In the Fall of the year before the first snow covers the forest floor, the Ponderosa Pine needles are carefully gathered and inspected for quality.  The needles are hand-picked from under the stately pine.  They are then stored in a dry warm environment.  Before using them, the needles are washed and soaked in weather, then dried.
